About Michael Dorshkind
Michael "Mike" Dorshkind carries the highest rating (AV) given by
Martindale-Hubbell, the premier legal directory and attorney rating
system in the United States. The peer review process employed by
Martindale-Hubbell measures two criteria: Legal Ability and
Professional Ethics.
In terms of legal ability, Mr. Dorshkind has been designated "Very High

Mr. Dorshkind received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970. He received his
Juris Doctorate from San Francisco Law School in 1976 and was admitted to the California Bar in that year.
Mr. Dorshkind was a Deputy District Attorney in Alameda County, California, for three years. He worked as an associate
attorney in a firm that represented the interests of medical and liability insurers for the next two and one half years.
Mr. Dorshkind has been exclusively representing persons who are the victims of medical neglect and negligence since
1982.
He currently sits as a Settlement Commissioner for the Alameda County Superior Court and, upon request, as a mediator.
Mr. Dorshkind has served as an arbitrator for the Alameda County Superior Court and the Marin County Superior Court. He
has also served on several Alameda County Bar Association service committees over the years.
In his free time, Mr. Dorshkind participates as a volunteer in local schools, fund-raising events, youth sports teams and
most recently, as the co-president of a local high school athletic booster organization.
Mr. Dorshkind has been married over 38 years and has three children.
